We started breeding Testudo marginata land turtles years ago, when we bought turtles for our children to create a positive relationship with animals. The children grew up and we were left named Fiona and Shrek. After about 8 years, we only found out, as is the case with turtles, that we have two boys (ie Fif\u00edk and Shrek). And so the idea came to us that we would expand the turtle family. We bought other turtles Vil\u00edk, Jul\u010da, Nela and Matilda.<\/p>

And so it happened that in the next three years we found the first laid eggs in the shed after some time. Although none of them were, it was the first attempt. We prepared better for the next season and bought a small incubator and we watched the expected clutch really carefully. It's not easy. Every day we went to check the turtles every hour so as not to miss the clutch. Turtles can hide it so perfectly that it is hard to find. Also there plays a role every time outside the incubator. The sooner we find the eggs, the better chance we have of hatching.<\/p>

We are not big breeders. We have our little turtle family. So far, we have succeeded twice in breeding in 2020 and 2021. And if there is someone with us who will still watch and watch them closely, then perhaps other small litters will succeed. It's always a beautiful feeling when a new creature climbs out of an egg. It reminds us of the ancient times of the dinosaurs.<\/p>

We have prepared this site after several years of searching for suitable conditions for our crested turtles, so that we can look into it ourselves at any time. But maybe they will also help you in faster orientation, for example how to improve your turtle breeding. Usually, each breeder gradually gains experience, he will know over time what would be most suitable for his tortoise. But the experience itself is non-transferable. Therefore, do not take this site as a dogma. In any case, you always get the first important information about breeding only from the breeder from which the baby turtle comes.
